Óbidos, Nazaré and Fátime (with Filipe)

Óbidos, Nazaré, Fátima and Monasteries

Óbidos – a small medieval village 80 km from Lisbon. Prepare to step back a few centuries and wander through its narrow streets, where you'll find many photogenic spots.

Ginjinha (a local liqueur made from sour cherries) will whet your appetite for the picnic I will have prepared for you.

Nazaré – a typical village with incredible views, where all the local families are connected to fishing in one way or another. It hosts the Big Wave World Championship, so if you're lucky, you might see waves up to 30 meters high. The sea is as beautiful as it is wild.

Alcobaça Monastery – the oldest monastery in the country, dates back to the founding of Portugal by King Afonso Henriques. It is linked to the most tragic and beautiful love story in Portuguese history. Here you will find the largest church in the country. The monks of the Cistercian Order occupied a vast territory, where the farmland is particularly fertile. At the time (12th and 13th centuries), occupying this territory was essential to defend against Arab invasions.

Batalha Monastery – To celebrate the Portuguese victory over the Spanish at the Battle of Aljubarrota in 1385, King João I commissioned the construction of a monastery that will surprise you. It wasn't completed until two centuries later, in 1563. However, the unfinished chapels were never completed.

Fátima – the sanctuary where the Virgin Mary appeared to the shepherds (Jacinta, Lúcia, and Francisco) in 1917. The largest pilgrimage in Europe takes place here on May 13th, the day of the apparition. A mystical place with a powerful energy.

I'll pick you up wherever you are in Lisbon and drop you off wherever you want in the city. Plenty of good reasons to take a ride with me.

This time, I offer you an unforgettable day trip departing from Lisbon with a visit to the most emblematic palaces of Sintra, as well as a visit to the village with its narrow and winding streets.

Sintra is a town near Lisbon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and has already been associated with many adjectives: mystical, magical, unique, typical, breathtaking, natural, wild, inspiring, romantic, etc.

Afterwards, we will reach the coast, the westernmost point of Europe (Cabo da Roca) and enjoy the setting with some of the most beautiful beaches north of Lisbon.

The Sintra coast joins the Cascais coast via a magnificent mountain road, beaches and ocean.

Cascais was originally a fishing village that has transformed into a kind of "Portuguese Saint Tropez".

We can find wonderful properties, restaurants, golf courses, swimming pools or a casino (in Estoril), but also natural landscapes, always with the ocean, beaches and, most often, sunshine.

I'll pick you up wherever you are in Lisbon and drop you off wherever you want in the city. Plenty of good reasons to take a ride with me.
